Regulation
1. ORGANIZERS
The International Comedy and Dramatic Comedy Festival is organized by the VED Cultural Association in synergy and within the Caserta cinema spaces, with the partnership of Baruffa Film, the Laboratory of audiovisual, theatrical and cinematographic productions of the L'Orientale University of Naples, the Campania Region and the Campania Region Film Commission.
2. OBJECTIVES
The International Comedy and Dramatic Comedy Festival is proposed as a meeting and comparison place for cinema in general, with clear reference to the international one, with particular attention to comedies and dramatic comedies, also genre (humorous, black, musical) and emerging cinemas, young filmmakers and independents. In the competitive sections, it promotes the knowledge and dissemination of films by new authors characterized by thematic and stylistic originality.
3. DATE AND DURATION
The International Comedy and Dramatic Comedy Festival for a total duration of four days.
4. SECTIONS OF THE FESTIVAL
The Festival is divided into 2 competitive sections:
• International Competition open to Comedy Feature Films.
• International Competition open to Short Films.
And in the following non-competitive sections:
• Out of Competition: dedicated to the most interesting production of the current year.
• Perspective Campania: mainly dedicated to films shot in the Campania region;
• Return to the past: dedicated to films that have made the history of comedy.
• Author's retrospective: every year the Festival will propose five works by an author who contributed with his art to spread and develop the language of cinema.
5. International Competition open to Comedy Feature Films.
a) The selection of the films is made by and at the discretion of the Festival Direction.
b) Feature films of comedy and comedy-drama genre can participate in this section.
Works already presented in the main competition of major international events such as Cannes, Berlin, Locarno are excluded from participation.
c) The Festival Direction will nominate an International Jury composed of at least five people, in charge of assigning the following prizes:
• Award for the best film awarded
• Screenplay Award
• Award for the best photograph
• Award for the best costumes
• Award for the best scenography
Furthermore, the public will confer, by voting from home - online - and in the hall, with special cards distributed at the beginning of the film performance, the prize for the best film "Selected in the room".
6. International Competition open to Short Films
a) The selection of the films is made by and at the discretion of the Festival Direction.
b) Films and videos from any country with a maximum duration of 30 minutes can participate in this section, without any style or genre preclusion.
More than two titles by the same author cannot be submitted to the selection.
c) The Festival Direction will nominate a Jury composed of at least three people, in charge of assigning the following prizes:
• Award for the best international short film
7. OUT OF COMPETITION / ROL ROOMS / BACK TO LIFE / SPECIAL PROGRAMS
a) The selection of the films is made by and at the discretion of the Festival Direction.
b) Feature films completed after 1 September 2018 can participate in these sections.
8. CAMPANIA PERSPECTIVE
At the sole discretion of the Festival Management, films by Campania authors, from the years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020,2021, are admitted to participate in this section: the festival management will privilege works that have had poor visibility on national markets.
9. BACK TO THE PAST
In this section you will find five films by authors from the cinematographic past who have worked on comedy. For each edition year, a film decade will be preferred. In the 2021 edition, works from the 1950s will be screened.
10. AUTHOR'S RETROSPECTIVE
Every year, the Caserta International Film Festival of Comedy drama aims to pay tribute to an author who has now disappeared but to be seen and reviewed to better understand, through yesterday's cinema, today's cinema with the screening of five films. Five years after his death, Caserta pays homage to Franco Rosi: not his acclaimed and well-known works as much as those often in the background and, at times, little appreciated by critics.
11. REGISTRATION OF FILMS AND EXPIRY DATE

The owners of the works who intend to participate in the Festival (in any section) must, no later than December 16, 2021, send a streaming link, following the procedures indicated in the registration form.

12.FILMS INVITED
a) Only for the works invited to the Festival, the Programming Office will take care of requesting complete documentation by providing a list of the required materials and the relative release which can be downloaded from the site.

d) For SELECTED films, it will be mandatory to deliver within 10 days before the start of the event:

13.PROJECTION OF FILMS
a) The calendar and times of the screenings are the exclusive responsibility of the Festival Direction and will be announced following the selection of the jury.

b) Foreign films will be presented in their original version with Italian subtitles by the participants. For films spoken in a language other than English, film producers are invited, whenever possible, to provide the Festival with a copy subtitled in English and Italian.
c) The Festival Direction will take care of the publication of a general catalog of the works presented.
d) The possibility of broadcasting the films online is not excluded, in the event that the festival takes place in a mixed or exclusively electronic way.
14. GENERAL RULES
a) In accordance with the IFFC's commitments under the 5050 × 2020 initiative (Protocol on gender equality), the Festival will make public, through its website, the gender and ethnicity profiles of:
• directors of the films presented;
• members of the selection committee, programmers, consultants and juries;
• members of the festival management and the board of directors.
b) All the shipping costs of the films are borne by the proponents (round trip), unless specifically indicated otherwise agreed with the Programming Office.

For this edition there are no refunds for guests.
This regulation is drawn up in Italian and English. In the event of interpretation problems, the Italian version prevails.
The Festival Management may make decisions relating to matters not covered by these regulations. The Court of Naples (Na) is competent for any dispute.
